How we work

Follow the work. Find the constraint. Fix the system.

Most operating problems live in the handoff between people, process, software, and data. BuiltWRKS traces the work across those boundaries before recommending a fix.

01 · Define

Name the outcome before the tool.

We start with what the customer, owner, and team need to be different. That gives the project a real finish line and prevents a software purchase from masquerading as a strategy.

Output: a plain-language problem statement, success measures, scope, and the people responsible for the result.

02 · Observe

Map what actually happens.

We follow a real order, lead, service request, product, or report through the current workflow. Interviews matter, but the records, exceptions, and workarounds reveal where the system breaks.

Output: a current-state map with owners, tools, delays, duplicate entry, hidden decisions, and failure points.

03 · Decide

Rank the few changes worth making.

Not every rough edge deserves a project. We separate the constraint from the symptoms, compare effort with operating value, and choose what should be removed, clarified, configured, automated, or left alone.

Output: a sequenced plan with tradeoffs, dependencies, expected outcomes, and a clear first move.

04 · Build

Put the new path into the real tools.

The work may include process redesign, CRM configuration, product-data structure, automation, an internal app, SOPs, or a combination. The design accounts for exceptions and review points before launch.

Output: a working system tested against real scenarios, not a slide deck describing one.

05 · Transfer

Make the team able to run it.

BuiltWRKS documents the workflow, assigns ownership, trains users, and watches the first real cycles. A handoff is complete when the team knows what normal looks like and what to do when it is not.

Output: operating documentation, training, monitoring, and an agreed support or closeout plan.

Ways to engage

Use the part of the method you need.

An engagement can stop after diagnosis or continue through implementation and operating support.

  • Ops audit: map the problem and leave with a prioritized plan.
  • Fixed implementation: build a defined workflow, system, or internal tool.
  • Fractional operations: own a moving operating function without adding a full-time role.
